Batxillerat: AN AMAZING ENGLISH ACTIVITY AT THE POLORAMA THEATRE: A.K.A

On Wednesday 9th February, sixty students and four teachers went to the Poliorama theatre to see the play A.K.A.

(Also Known As) tells us about a specific period in the adolescence of a teenager. From a moment in which, through no fault of his own, his foundations, his roots, his identity tremble. The eyes of others make him wonder what his “true” identity is; Maybe he is not totally who he has decided to be. Are we what we feel we are? Or what people think we are? This is what A.K.A revolves about: how these germs take root in the life of this boy.

The teachers worked the argument and some issues before and after the play. The most difficult thing for the students was to understand everything in English, because sometimes the actor spoke very quickly or not facing the audience. But, they got the general context and ideas perfectly well.

We had a great time together, and the student’s general opinion about the play was positive.

We are eager to repeat the experience again next year.

Student’s opinion: “On Wednesday the 9th we went to see the play “AKA” at Teatre Poliorama. It was about one hour long, and only had one actor. The play is about the life of a teenage boy, as he meets a girl online, and they start chatting. As I said, there’s only one actor, and the scenery doesn’t change during the play. What did change was the music and the actors’ expressions. It was very cool seeing how easy it was to follow the story despite only having one actor, and it also followed an interesting story.”                                                                                    Student: Axel Kaijser                                                                                    1st B Batchillerat
