1r de batxillerat: LINGUISTIC TRIP TO ENNIS

Our school organized a linguistic trip toEnnis, Ireland, for seven days (from the twenty-fourth of March to thethirtieth of March). We were forty-one students and three teachers. All of usstayed in family houses.

Ennis is the county town of Clare. The town is on the river Fergus, which flows east, then south into the Shannon estuary.

The name Ennis comes from the Irish word “Inis” which means “island”.

In the morning our students had classes focused on oral practice. Then they had a break of an hour and different extra activities in the afternoon such as: an orientation tour of Ennis ( with its narrow streets and colourful shops), Irish song and dance workshops, bowling, Irish sports like Hurling and Gaelic football and an excursion to the world famous Cliffs of Moher. On Thursday evening we had disco sharing the activity with all the students from the Clare Language Centre. The first day when we arrived to Dublin, before going to Ennis,  we enjoyed a panoramic and walking Dublin tour.

It’s our fourth time as school in Ennis and wemust confess that we are enchanted with the village, the people, the familiesand the  language academy. It’s a greatexperience and all our students enjoyed a lot!
